Unipolar Stepper Motor Controller Serial

Control the speed of any common DC motor rated up to 100V 5A. Operates on Standard circuit to drive 5, 6 or 8 wire unipolar stepper motors. K1001 is an 8-Channel Serial Servo Controller based on the Atmel 89C2051 microcontroller.

Our stepper motor controllers are designed to be useful to researchers, experimenters and hobbyists, and are appropriate for industrial applications. They are excellent for control of anything from small linear actuator devices to medium-duty X-Y positioning tables. As-is, each can be directly used in small pan/tilt mechanisms. Using our products, only minimal external electronics are needed to operate any simple stepper-motor-driven device such as implementing a computer-controlled security camera.

On September 8, 2014 we announced the full release of our BC6D20 6 motor controller system. This product allows operation of up to 6 bipolar motors both as NC and asynchronous systems, at up to 500,000 microsteps per second per motor. Cost 80- 166 per axis. Mariss Freimanis of geckdrive.com says: A switching type drive makes sense when the power levels are large. The inefficiency of a linear drive becomes prohibitive at such levels. At 7A and 80V, a classic linear drive dissipates an unacceptable 560 Watts of heat in the power transistors. At the other extreme, say 1A and 24V, the complexity of a switching type drive makes less sense. Heat dissipation then is a manageable 24 Watts and the simplicity and other advantages of a linear amplifier becomes appealing.

Multiply any drive s rated current by its rated voltage. Divide that number by its price. Those numbers gives you the relative value of any drive; how much performance you get for the money you spend.

Although they are excellent drivers, purchasing a set of three Geko G250 3.5A 50VDC / 81 2.16 for 243 is still a waste of money if you are driving smaller motors. The Linistepper will cost you 90 for 3 axis plus your time assembling the kit and has a 2A 35V / 30 2.33 Mariss rating. Geko s are the best drivers in the industry for large bipolar motors at ultra high 1000 rpm speeds. If you are running anything up to a couple amps, the Linistepper and your soldering iron will give you close to the same performance smooth, low resonance, best torque at half the price with motors you pulled from a printer, fax or copier, or purchased used or on the cheap. BTW to all those newbies out there Linisteppers impressed me as a newbie but then they were starting to show their weakness - they were sloooow. At least I thought it s due to linisteppers. Well, I can report that with 24v and laserjet steppers these things are SCREAMING I m running them nicely at 20revs/sec albeit 1 minute at a time, until I ve sorted out my cooling problems with my very rough machine that hasn t been executed too precisely or adjusted properly. Before at 12v the motors would stall at the slightest misalignment and 6revs/sec was all I could get out of them reliably. Once all that is ironed-out I m thinking 30revs/sec 1.75mm lead would be attainable.

The Linisteppers only deficiency, it seems, is the transistor heat. I have a chopper here and a linistepper and they both run at 24v. Linistepper sounds sweeter and it seems it runs faster as well before stalling. This is strange as I always thought a chopper would go faster and stall higher up in the rev range.

I don t know what I like better, burning my finger on the driver board or burning my finger on the motor. Which do you prefer. P.S. It seems that once I switched to a chopper driver all that heat that used to be on linisteppers just transferred to motors themselves.

ed, at this point, we find out that there was NO heatsink on the linisteppers power transisters Since I burned my fingers on a motor that was driven by a chopper and that motor was actually HOTTER than linisteppers driving other motors I have decided to stick to linisteppers. It s easier to worry about heat in one place than 3 separate locations. Went down to my local PC shop and they ll have some 2nd hand pentium II coolers with fan in by monday.

Ok, I have re-assembled one of my linis, applied thermal paste, applied isolators to each, mounted the brackets and laid a 12v computer fan on the brackets blowing DOWN through the brackets and onto the lini. The lini transistors are now as cool as ice.

Suggestion: Make a note of the changed capacitor values in the printed instructions.Request 1: Make a bipolar controller next. 3 or 4 wire Please.Request 2: Offer or specify upgrade kit with specific directions of what to change, for higher amp motors for people like me who don t know what they re doing. James Newton of MassMind replies: good, I see you checked the voltage AT the pin. Yes, it does sound like a fried chip. Now the question is why. 5.3 volts is a bit high PIC s aren t supposed to be over 5.5 volts on VDD, and the input shouldn t be more than VDD, so that 5.3 is ok only if VDD is more than 5.3

Pros

Rolling releases: In the past, buying a copy of AVG would get you regular antivirus updates, but features would not change until you bought the following year s version. Now you can always have the newest version of AVG. It s free: Although it s release method has changed, you can still get a version that costs no money -- though there are a few strings attached more on that in the Cons section below.

Modular installation: AVG has separate components that can monitor your desktop email client and your Web browser for threats, and you can choose to not install both of these, if you have other software that covers these bases already. Cons

Installer gotchas: If you don t intervene by using a custom installation, the installer will put you on a 30-day trial of one of the company s paid products instead of installing AVG Antivirus Free. And it will change your Web browser s homepage and default search engine to Bing.com. PC Analyzer has issues: AVG Antivirus features a PC Analyzer, which checks for registry errors, junk files and broken shortcuts that can be deleted, and disk defragmentation. The problem is, you re not supposed to defrag a solid-state drive, but PC Analyzer did not appear to notice what type of drive it was. The analyzer is also all-or-nothing; you can t skip the defrag or the registry cleaner and just delete junk files and shortcuts, for example. Bottom Line

According to independent testing labs such as AV-Test and AV-Comparatives, AVG uses a solid antivirus engine. But the hoops you have to jump through in the installer and the technical error in the PC Analyzer have an impact on trust and confidence in the product.

AVG is senior in antivirus the more Experience the more quality they give..for 1 decade it improves their software and add some additional feature

only problem on boot..it ad 1 minute of your time..but slowing is a natural part of security..because example if you are going to the mall..there is a SECURITY weeeee checking your things P. The malware virus that you have because of AVG is the advertisement you click..so if you can buy antivirus..buy also some advertisement blocker..you will also help another software product. I don t have money so this free antivirus help me for about a decade just don t click advertisement so no virus malware spyware or some . .support avg

everything virus virus shuts down computer and all files virus

I assume the antivirus still works, but it hasn t found any so far. It s free if you chose that option. It s slowed my computer down. I have used AVG for years and been relatively happy. Now with Zen, it is a slow download and it slows my whole computer down. I will most likely change to Avast or another free program. I wouldn t recommend this now. They need to go back to the old AVG. Reply to this review

I suppose it keeps me relatively safe. Not a day goes by without an annoying explorer pop-up or other message asking me to tune up my computer. How often does a man have to say no.. If this isn t solved shortly, I will switch to a different antivirus package. Reply to this review

None - destroyed my computer

Got to the point where I had to restore my system from a backup

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS My AVG auto updated to the new 2016 version. It completely took over my computer and blew away all of my Web browsers except for Firefox. Google Chrome will not even start. Internet Explorer will not start either, but at least shows a critical error message. So I went to Control Panel to uninstall AVG. When I click Uninstall, it literally says Oops, something went wrong. Contact our friendly customer support. So I click the Contact Customer Support button, and of course nothing happens. It s ironic that an antivirus program is behaving exactly like a virus. This is a DISASTER.. Reply to this review

-It is an antivirus, so there s that.

-Constant prompts to install useless programs that do nothing for you but intrude upon your personal settings. They care more about their clever marketing schemes ie: changing your homepage to their search filled with their ads and constant paid upgrade options than they do about actually providing a useful and unobtrusive service to their customers. Growing Up

My older brother and I were World War II babies. Dads career was in the army and he fought all of World War II and Korea. We grew up on army bases, outside the US during peacetime and stateside during wartime. Our last seven years with him were in Germany where he died in 1961. He was so damaged by his war experiences that he couldn t connect with me. I had no father. My mother was remarkable. She loved us. She was a schoolteacher and fed me all of my interests, giving me self-esteem and making me a creative, loving man who cared for people. After my father s death we moved back to Virginia and I was placed in an all white school where I immediately was confronted with the ugliness of segregation. I got in trouble with my classmates and was beaten up for standing up to the racism that surrounded me. I was a strange, nerdy kid. In my late teens I was hospitalized three times because I didn t want to live in a world of so much violence and injustice. Everything changed in the last hospitalization when I decided that instead of taking my life, I would make a love revolution. At 18, I found my desire to serve humanity through medicine and made the commitment to myself to never have another bad day. I decided to be happy. I left the hospital on fire and pursued a couple interests while working for my medical degree.

Second, I set out to quench my thirst for knowledge by studying everything I could get my hands on. In order to become an instrument for peace, justice and care I read thousands of books. I became interested in whole systems thinking, looking for ways to integrate it with the hospital-community concepts that emerged in medical school. In my imagination I envisioned a communal eco-village hospital that would address every problem of the way healthcare was delivered in one model. I wrote it up in a paper in March, 1971 and this was the basis of what became the Gesundheit Institute. I met my wife, Linda, in my last year of medical school Medical College of Virginia, class of 1971. She was instrumental in the early years of the hospital s functioning and I cannot imagine it without her. Together we had two sons, Atomic and Lars. With an amazing group of friends we created the Gesundheit Institute, a pilot hospital model, which we operated for twelve years out of our communal home. We were always open for any kind of problem. Our policy was: 1 no charge 2 no health insurance reimbursement 3 no malpractice insurance 4 3 to 4 hour initial interview with the patient 5 home as hospital 6 integration of all the healing arts 7 integration of medicine with performance arts, arts and crafts, nature, agriculture, education, recreation and social service 8 the health of the staff is as important as the health of the patient. We did this for 12 years and saw thousands of patients. The experience was enchanting. Unfortunately we were so radical that we couldn t find funding. The staff itself paid to practice. In 1984, we realized that we couldn t continue operating this way. We needed a facility. In this context we decided to go public and I quickly became busy as a speaker.

Global Outreach

In the last 28 years, I ve created 50 presentations and performed them in 70 countries. I ve spoken at 90 medical schools in the US and many more around the world. Over the course of the last two decades I ve been on the road for 200-300 days of the year. In 1985, I took a group of people on a clown trip to what was then the Soviet Union. Equipped with colorful clothing and compassion we visited hospitals, orphanages, homes for the elderly as well as just clowning on the street. Since then, these trips have been an integral part of Gesundheit s global outreach. Apart from returning to Russia every year there have been clown trips to all corners of the world, including visits to war zones, refugee camps and natural disaster sites. We ve also built clinics and a school at some of the places we ve visited. I go on six or seven of these trips yearly. They are the sweetest healing work I get to do while I wait for the hospital. After separating from my wife in 1997, I submerged myself in working to get our hospital built. Several years later the movie about my life, Patch Adams, was released. I thought it would build our hospital but that hasn t been the case. It did, however, bring a great deal more visibility to our project and opened many wonderful doors to new directions for Gesundheit to pursue. 20 years ago I became a student of the School for Designing a Society and over time I ve discovered a passion for teaching.

Breaking Ground

In the summer of 2011 we started construction of our first big building, a Teaching Center in West Virginia. This will allow us to see patients once again as well as providing a space to teach health care system design. In the excitement for this moment, I chose to move to Urbana, Illinois to live with my beloved Susan, who has been and continues to be a precise mentor to me. In recent years I ve had the opportunity to work together with my sons and brother, Wildman, and life doesn t get any better than that. All this in hopeful preparation for the dream of a crazy free hospital. My life has been a dance with humanity.Friends are my passion.
