i downloaded and compiled driver for RaLink 2400 series. It showing strong signal, but dropping connection. Also can t set internet going. FF can t connect to any url, even ping to access point not working. What i m doing wrong

P.S. Buffalo wi-fi card working perfect. Slax 6.0.9

WPA or WEP. What does iwlist wlan0 scanning and iwconfig give you.

open network. Just limited by mac address

Hi. Betep.I m also using RaLink wireless mini PCI for my laptop, and I highly recommend you to use this module. Wireless Assistant 0.5.7 detail id 284

My default Slax wifimanager couldn t detect my wifi signal even I m using my wireless linksys router in my room.My windows 7 works perfectly fine. So, I tried a few different wifi manager modules, and wireless assistant works very well for me.

Yes i ahve had more luck with wlassistant too. First make sure your card is being recognized.

If you see it in the list then you are good. Try above module.

but very slow. Link is only 1Mbit/sec but buffalo give 11

hi,iwconfig wlan n txpower 100mW or other works most of the time,however it s not clear what is your config, a more detailed post aboutslax version, kernel and driver version etc.. Might be more useful. Nimh
